Colts Match Reports | Qualifying Finals August 2019

Ben Staunton, Director of Colts

1st Colts v Randwick L 24 - 43

Well it was a better performance in sense of points but the season finished for the 1st Colts on Saturday at Coogee Oval. With the first half performance having a number of errors and allowing easy possession to Randwick they were able to convert and tick the scoreboard over easily. The second half the boys then went back to what was the game plan and caused Randwick issues in a number of areas which resulted in us scoring some good tries. It was a shame we didn't start the game as we finished as I felt we could have caused a major upset but it wasn't meant to be. MOM Flyn Kilby.

2nd Colts v Manly W 73 - 24

A commanding performance with plenty flair and style in a number of tries means that the 2nd Colts move into the second week of finals. We were able to put our imprint into the game straight from the kickoff with the high intensity play which stretched the Manly defence. By half time we were a long way in front but were able to keep the same level of performance during the second half. Ben Baker was able to grab a hatrick and a prize from Coach Big E. MOM Ben Baker.

3rd Colts v Warringah W 73 - 3

Once the 3rds settled into their rhythm, they were able to win this game easily in the end. This is an exciting team to watch in the way they play and attack. With many moving parts in team selection means keeping everyone happy and clear with roles. This is a great performance especially keeping them to only 3pts when under pressure at times. Roll on to the semi finals this week. MOM William Johnson.
